Too Know Christ

Debra Thompson was born in Cleveland, Mississippi. She grew up in southwest Florida. When she was a child she wanted to be a musician. She learned to play the cello and the piano. Her idea of becoming a musician was set aside in junior high school when she took a Language Arts class. She became fascinated with books. She remembers her literature arts teacher reading a chapter each day from the book Death Be Not Proud. It was then that Debra fell in love with storytelling and the art of writing.

Debra Thompson graduated from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. There she earned a BA and MA in education. She was actively involved in writing classes and book clubs with hopes of inspiring future young authors. As a YA coordinator, she had the opportunity to meet and talk with renowned award winning authors such as Arnold Adoff, Virginia Hamilton, Gerald Hausman, and Donald Crews.

Debra's love for books and the writing process blossomed. Yet, through the years education took priority and writing took a back seat once again. Over time she wrote several unpublished scripts which are now collecting dust. The desire to write never ceased. God didn't let me give up on the dreams he placed in my heart, He brought Authormixx, LLC publishing to fruition in the writing of her first children book: The Crumb Snatchers. Although Debra enjoys reading numerous genres, her true passion is writing inspirational and spiritual. It was a spiritual awakening from God who inspired Debra to write The Great I AM.
